John Lomax III celebrated his 50 continuous year in the local music industry by becoming a performer and creating THE LOMAX ON LOMAX SHOW. This solo, acapella event presents songs, stories and images based on his family’s work of finding, recording, preserving, and presenting unique American music and musicians over 114 years and four generations.

Lomax is also developing presentations of the show into book, album and visual projects. Since 1973 arrival, Lomax has worked as an artist manager, journalist, label exec and, from 1996, international music distributor. He is a CMA Award winner, earning the Jo Walker Medor International Achievement Award in 2010.

"My solo, acapella LOMAX ON LOMAX SHOW tells the story of a remarkable family. Four generations of Lomaxes have been finding, recording, promoting, preserving, and presenting unique American music for 140 years! I sing some of the best known of the cowboy songs John Avery Lomax discovered, Lead Belly material and selections by my father, John Avery Lomax Jr., “The Dean of Texas Folk Singers”, uncle Alan Lomax and aunt, Bess Lomax Hawes."
