Peter Levin Band presents a Psychedelic Christmas Celebration with Chad Gamble, Audley Freed, Ted Pecchio, Drew Smithers, Shannon McNally.
City Winery Nashville presents Peter Levin Band and a Psychedelic Christmas Celebration performing the music of the Allman Brothers Band, The Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia Band, Jimi Hendrix and more live in concert on December 20th at 7:30pm. Featuring Peter Levin (Gregg Allman Band, The Highwomen), Chad Gamble (Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit), Audley Freed (Sheryl Crow), Ted Pecchio (Susan Tedeschi Band, Marcus King), Drew Smithers (Marcus King Band) and special guest Shannon McNally.
Keyboardist Peter Levin has long been in demand for his musicianship, good ears, tasty soulful playing and good vibes that can make any band better. Levin has toured and recorded with likes of Gregg Allman, The Highwomen, Dolly Parton, Amanda Shires, Aaron Neville, Ringo Starr, Marcus King, The Blind Boys of Alabama, The O’Jays, The Allman Betts Band, Little Feet, Doobie Brothers, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young as well as other blues and Americana luminaries. He also has a diverse background working in the studio with everyone from Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys, Gym Class Heroes, Korn and Train. Levin is no stranger to crushing it onstage with Manhattan jam kings like The Zen Tricksters, God Street Wine and Robert Randolph’s Family Band.
That immersion in gospel roots and Hammond B3 mastery paid off in 2014, when Levinbegan playing with Allman, developing a close personal and musical bond over the next four years. Alan Paul interviewed Gregg in 2015 before the release of his live album Back to Macon and the first thing he wanted to tell me was he was regretful that the show was recorded “before we got my new keyboardist.” Unsolicited, Gregg wanted to sing Levin’s praises. “Peter Levin is just... Oh man! He’s a hell of a Hammond player.”
