Join us for a Día de Muertos-inspired concert honoring ancestors, immigrants, and our shared roots.

Una noche de música inspirada en Día de Muertos, honrando a nuestros antepasados, inmigrantes y raíces compartidas.

KARINA DAZA:

Award-winning, bilingual singer-songwriter Karina Daza is turning heads in the music scene with the types of songs she wished to hear as a child of immigrants. Making waves with her blend of Latin tropical-pop, folk, and jazz, Karina was named one of “5 Latin Women You Need to Hear” by prestigious music blog Sounds and Colours. The internationally touring songstress has appeared on NBC, Telemundo, and Univision, and was featured as the cover artist for Spotify’s "Fresh Finds Latin" playlist.

Karina's unique sound and musical prowess have allowed her to share the stage and collaborate with artists like Gaby Moreno, Alex Cuba, Cimafunk, and Pitbull. With a raw and emotive voice, she sings about love, identity, celebrating her roots, and social justice. Karina’s most recent EP, "Viajera," has received acclaim from NPR, World Cafe, Lightning 100, and the Nashville Scene.

MAKING MOVIES:

Making Movies will take you on a psychedelic musical journey with an original sound Rolling Stone describes as "an eclectic blend of rumbero percussions, delicate organs and grungy fuzz rock.”

Founded by Enrique Chi—a Panamanian songwriter, musician, filmmaker, and cultural producer—the Latin Grammy-nominated band serves as the primary platform for Chi’s creative mission. Armed with electric guitars and a Mejorana, a folcloric guitar native to Panamá, the band interweaves styles as divergent as cumbia and blues, salsa, soul, and rock'n'roll––all boiled down into their own original sound.

Over the course of their career, the quartet has turned heads as a Tiny Desk newcomer (with "A La Deriva"), a voice for immigrant rights (with "I Am Another You" which reached #3 on Billboard's Latin Pop Album chart), and as a co-writer alongside salsa icon Rubén Blades with "No Te Calles,” the first single from Blades Latin Grammy nominated album.

In 2025, Making Movies will release its followup to its critically acclaimed XOPA (Cosmica Artists) as well as a live EP from their performance at Rocky Mountain Folks festival. Chi is also producing AMERI'KANA TV, a National Endowment for the Arts-funded documentary series that explores an alternate history of American music, continuing their mission to inspire and educate.
