In celebration of Latin Heritage Month, Musicana Nashville presents an impressive lineup of renowned Latinx singer-songwriters who are redefining the music scene in Nashville and beyond. Featured artists include:
Kat Luna: Born and raised in Miami, Latina Country Artist Kat Luna combines her Cuban roots, love of country music storytelling, and powerhouse vocals to tell authentic stories with a “soulful country sound.” Luna’s talents originally came to the forefront at the age of 19 when she appeared on “La Voz” before moving to Nashville, TN to pursue her country music career. She is currently working on her first solo project with producer Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Lady A).
Mōriah: Mōriah is a Mexican-American recording artist, actress and producer from Los Angeles. After signing with SONY/Provident in Nashville, her sophomore album, "BRAVE," soared to number 9 on Billboard's CCM Charts, featuring a collaboration with GRAMMY award-winning rapper Andy Mineo. Mōriah is currently writing songs for a country album in her home in Nashville, with Grammy Award-winning producer Paul Mabury.
Karina Daza: Award-winning, bilingual singer-songwriter Karina Daza is turning heads in the music scene with the types of songs she wished to hear as a child of immigrants. Making waves with her blend of soulful Latin tropi-folk, Karina was named in Sounds and Colours’ “5 Latin Women You Need to Hear” list and was featured as the cover artist for Spotify’s Fresh Finds Latin playlist. Karina's unique sound and musical prowess have allowed her to open for the likes of Gaby Moreno, Alex Cuba, and Pitbull. Karina’s recent EP, "Viajera," has received acclaim from NPR, World Cafe, and Nashville Scene.
Alanna Royale: Alanna Royale makes classic-minded R&B and soul music for the modern age. It's a sound rooted in big melodies, blasts of brass, percussive punch, and old-school grooves, with songs that shine a light not only on Alanna's' larger-than-life voice, but her songwriting chops, too. You may have seen her in the Nashville Scene, on Lightning 100, or at one of her incredible live shows around the country!
Gustavo Moradel: Gustavo Moradel is a talented singer-songwriter whose music touches the hearts of millions around the world. Born in Honduras and having immigrated to the US at the age of 12, Gustavo's journey has been a testament to the power of perseverance and the pursuit of dreams. Through his powerful performances and thoughtful lyrics, he skillfully combines his love for music with his dedication to promoting social change. Gustavo's music, which boasts millions of streams worldwide, has become a powerful tool in conveying his message of hope, resilience, and inclusivity.
Elia Esparza: Elia Esparza is a Latina pop-soul singer with a western twist. The El Paso native has been featured on The Voice, American Idol, and La Voz Mexico. Her audition for The Voice went viral after turning three chairs with her rendition of Selena’s “Como La Flor,” and since then, Elia has released several original singles. Elia draws influence from her Mexican culture, as well as from classic powerhouse vocalists like Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin.
Isadora Petra: Isadora Petra is a Chilean American artist who presents an enrapturing new vision of bedroom pop: a sonic palette of latin rhythms, jazz, and electronic elements, all steeped in romantic nostalgia. Her debut album is a multilingual, intimate, and cinematic project marked by evocative songwriting and production. Her heartfelt performance style, with a theatrical flair, defines her artistry and brings her songs to life.
