City Winery Presents JUDY PASTER TRIO with Kenny Foster live on December 8th at 7:00pm

Nashville-based, Pennsylvania-grown country Americana artist Judy Paster breathes life back into the timeless roots music genre. She has become known for her strong spirit and distinctive style that evoke 70s singer/songwriters with a contemporary edge. With her Trio debut, she unites with two Grammy-winning artists from The Time Jumpers Band, combining acoustic guitar, upright bass, and fiddle to create a lush musical backdrop for her stunning songs, & bringing tranquility amidst life's chaos. Paster originally gained notoriety in Billboard with her rootsy self-titled debut EP, Judy Paster, when she was referred to as an artist “truly on the rise." Shortly after, Paster moved to Nashville and found herself getting local airplay and carving out her own niche in the Nashville singer/songwriter community. Since making the move to Music City, Paster has garnered numerous music awards including the 2021 Josie Music Award for Folk/Americana Artist of the Year, and a Canadian Covenant Award (the Canadian equivalent of America’s Dove) for co-writing the Jazz Blues Song of the Year. She is a three-time GMA (Gospel Music Association) Covenant award-nominee and has recorded with Southern Gospel legends, the Gaithers. Paster has written and shared the stage with some of Nashville’s top hit songwriters and has also written for film and TV. Her song, “Christmas Crush” (co-written with Bill DiLuigi and Corey Lee Barker) is featured in a Lifetime TV movie called ‘The Holiday Exchange’ this holiday season, 2024.

Most recently, Paster has signed with Synapse Publishing & Entertainment to collaborate with three other female country artists/songwriters on Women Behind the Lyrics, a reality TV series and national tour. Filming has commenced in Nashville, with the tour scheduled to take place in October 2025. Following her debut EP, Paster has released four additional albums, Stronger, Rubies, Rocks & Stones, Like Stardust, & her most recent, Road To The Sun, alongside several singles.

KENNY FOSTER

Foster’s unorthodox career has seen him sharing the stage with artists including Buddy Miller, Kacey Musgraves, Patty Griffin, Brothers Osborne, Maren Morris and Old Dominion, and appearing in numerous episodes of ABC’s Nashville and even in Super Bowl commercials alongside Sheryl Crow and Danica Patrick. He was named one of the “Top 10 New Artists You Need to Know” by Rolling Stone and has been highlighted in the New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, and Forbes. The critically acclaimed Deep Cuts (2017) album expanded Kenny's reach further than even he could have imagined. After touring to 18 countries in the following years the release of his newest effort, Somewhere in Middle America (2022), addresses the beauty and the limitations, the experiences and the challenges, facing those Midwesterners who, like him, carry a complicated relationship to their hometowns and the polarizing mindsets that increasingly define our times. Born and raised in Joplin, Missouri, the acclaimed and innovative artist didn’t set out to make this complex and deeply personal territory the focus of the record, but gradually became aware of what was feeling most urgent to him. The results merge country storytelling, singer/songwriter intimacy, and rock & roll intensity—the place where pedal steel and banjos meet power chords. The first single 'Somewhere In Middle America' had it's World Radio Premier on BBC Radio 2's "The Country Show with Whispering Bob Harris". His second single, 'Poor Kids', a premier on Absolute Radio Country, and his third single 'Copy, Paste, Repeat' earned him a British Country Music Award for 'International Single of the Year'.
